Executive Sous Chef

Originally from Maleny, Queensland, Australia, Josh commenced his culinary career in 1998 to complete his first traineeship in the industry.

In 2000, to broaden his horizons, Josh moved to Brisbane where he worked in various fast paced cafes and restaurants. In 2005 he embarked into a culinary adventure through France in order to expand his knowledge while exploring a new angle of gastronomy. During his time in Europe Josh worked in several restaurants and luxury hotels including the fine dining restaurant of the Crowne Plaza in Geneva, “L’Olivo” where he worked for two years and attained the position of Chef de Partie.

Upon his return to Australia Josh took the position of Sous Chef at the renowned restaurant, Libertine in Brisbane.

After a successful year at Libertine Josh became the Chef de Cuisine at the award winning fine dining restaurant Privé 249 in the Sofitel Brisbane.

During his eventful time at Privé 249 Josh has cooked meals for many A-list celebrities, won the QHA award for best prestige restaurant 2014 and held 1 chefs hat for four years consecutively.

Currently, with 17 years industry experience, he is the Executive Sous Chef at the Pullman Melbourne on the Park, a 419 room hotel with multiple outlets and 30 staff in the department.
